MP Opinions - Help Requested

In November 2004 AMIPP sent a  letter to MPs and requested your help in making that effective.  This web page is about a further letter to MPs sent as a result of the responses to the November letter. This new letter describes the responses from MPs, and the enquiries of MPs, and it asks MPs for further action.

It is not possible for a particular letter to cover all the viewpoints that various scheme members will hold.  If you feel the AMIPP letter significantly misrepresents the broad scheme member view, please let us know via the message board.

If your MP is in the following list then they made some response to the November letter - an acknowledgement or more.  This new February letter was sent only to these MPs.

Peter Ainsworth, Michael Ancram, James Arbuthnot, Norman Baker,  Tim Boswell, Virginia Bottomley, Sydney Chapman, David Chidgey, Kenneth Clarke, Menzies Campbell, Brian Donohoe, John Denham, Sue Doughty, David Drew, Howard Flight, Sandra Gidley, Cheryl Gillan,  Dominic Grieve,  Mike Hancock, Alan Haselhurst, Mark Hoban,  John Horam, Gerald Howarth, Andrew Hunter, Boris Johnson,  Tessa Jowell, Robert Key,  Jacqui Lait, David Lidington, Peter Luff, Andrew Mackay, John McFall, Diane Organ, George Osborne,  Kerry Pollard, Marion Roe, John Redwood,  Adrian Sanders,  Jim Sheridan, Clare Short, Andrew Stunell, Desmond Swayne, John Taylor, Andrew Tyrie,  Robert Walter, Nigel Waterson, Steve Webb, Alan Whitehead, Malcolm Wicks,  Bill Wiggin,  Roger Williams,  David Willetts, Nicholas Winterton, Derek Wyatt,

If your MP is not in the list then, as far as we know, they did nothing.  (Although they may have responded more directly to you.  Also there was one unsigned acknowledgement.)

If you feel MPs should be doing more then you could urge the ones in the list to do the three things the letter suggests, and ones not in the list to take an interest.  The previous request for your help has information on contacting MPs.

If you keep us informed of what you do or learn, we will aim to summarise on the web.  You can do that by telling the webmaster or using the Contacts page.  Whether the exercise proves valuable will depend on the collective effort of those registered with AMIPP, as well as the worth of MPs.
