The Association of Members of
IBM UK Pension Plans (AMIPP)

MNDs, AMIPP and the Trust    (This page created 15 May 2007)

AMIPP has always tried to be reasoned in its dealings with the Trust, since the Trust is an obvious source of information for "Keeping You Informed".   We have tried to get involved in the discussions that were held in preparation for the 3rd May 2007 meeting of the Trust.  We failed, and the following correspondence might help you judge why.

We sent a letter to the trustee-directors after David Newman announced the discussions at the Hursley Retirees AGM.  This letter compares the credentials of the Hursley Retirees Club, which was invited to discuss its views, with AMIPP, which was not.

The Trust has not replied to the 12 April 2007 letter, but we have received a reply from Pension Services.  [When do you think "sharing views" is not a "consultation"?]

AMIPP has commented on that reply.

Views on the Code of Practice for appointing MNDs can still be displayed and developed on the website, and this will be done, but a more interactive communication with the trustees would have been better.  This is important because the Code of Practice says what is good practice and what is not; there is some indications that our trust plans to ignore parts of it.
