I've just caught up with reading this discussion after a break away from it. I would like this Forum to continue in some form.

Personally I'm not that bothered by the Phorum software.In a perverse way I rather like it.
I would be happy to see AMIPP in the current form continue, but equally happy if it moved or restarted in another form (eg Mark Cathcart's proposal).
I would be happy to contribute to a "whip-round" to pay for hosting, domain etc.
I'm not particularly bothered about disclosing my identity to register on the Forum (I did that on IPIG and NLG) but I would prefer my real identity not broadcast on the publicly readable Forum (just like the current AMIPP).
I might be persuaded to assist in some way. My reservations are: I don't live in the UK. My internet connection is poor-quality, and not likely to improve in the near future. I am trying to concentrate on other interests and I sometimes travel. All of the above means I might make a suitable assistant but I would be a poor anchor-man.

I've lost track of who proposed a number of options. The only one I would prefer not to happen is "let the old dog die peacefully". My personal opinion is that the very presence "the old dog" and the odd bark may have been discouraging the burglars for some time. He may still prove useful to us and to others.
