While I can't imagine many of the turns my career at IBM would take, and the impact it would have on my personal life, I couldn't have imagined back in 1974 I'd have got so far and achieved so much. Almost all of that was due to IBM colleagues, most from IBM UK, many now retired, but still many at IBM.

When I left IBM I wrote 3-blog posts on my penultimate day, about some of the fantastic people I'd worked with, who help me both mature, grow as a person and who helped me so much. At least until a couple of years ago, those could still be found inside IBM. While I couldn't have seen how things worked out, what I have learned over time is that little things matter, being able to help where it's not a big deal, can be a big deal.

You can pretty much find anything you want about me online, as I've posted I've been involved in numerous web efforts, including right back in the mid-90's doing an early IBM UK, EMEA websites, working with the early IBM pioneers of Java(yes, IBM..) etc. I've learned a huge amount and for me, if there is something I can do simply, at little risk to me, then I'd like to help out. Much of my early IBM contributions can be found in the Internet Archive aka waybackmachine.
