Maybe people are missing a simple timeline.

To my knowledge the AMIPP originally came to life in response to the employer's action with regards to and issue with C-Plan and M-Plan issues. Even if this is not entirely correct I believe the birth of AMIPP was based on pension issues.

Once the origin matter was addressed then the much larger gathered audience/contributors moved on to other pension related issues. These issues often affected current employees and so the audience, gripes, concerns etc. spread beyond pension issue and into much wider employer/employee issues. We've seen them all here in recent years: PBCs, employment issues, hiring, firing, excessive director remuneration, etc. etc.

If you like the AMIPP has morphed into a much broader beast.

Mark's offer, (I believe), is to address and host a pure pensions related forum.

Others are thinking/wanting a possibly more diverse offering.

With this in mind then a purist decision point would be:

a) purely pension related .... which no doubt will bring other baggage
b) more general which will bring all sorts of nice and not so nice stuff into ant forum

Any forum set up to adhere to a) could fairly easily be moderated. Posts not pension related, or pensioner communication, chit chat related would be struck.

b) potentially raises far more issues and challenges to solve.

Personally as a pensioner I quite like a) and even before being a pensioner my pension was my future and more important than any beefs I had with my employer, although I will admit that poor PBCs affected pay and thus affected pension so the "line" was never that clear cut.

A b) solution whilst it will have a larger appeal and more votes. It will also be more difficult to moderation as the scope is so much wider. Unless someone/some people are prepared to stand up and deliver (including managing any legal issues) then all tat is left is a) (subject to other ideas/offerings).

The anonymity issue is less of potential problem for a) but potentially a big problem for b) and as such I think the anonymity discussion is second to the a) and b) decision/divide.
