Although I've only had this current AMIPP id since 2009, I've used the site since 2000 I think, so I became aware of how IBM was changing a lot sooner than most of my colleagues. From 2000 - 2009 I tried to get other IBMers interested in what IBM was doing to pensions, but almost all decided it wasn't their fight ... how wrong they were. I think you may see even less interest from current employees (unless they have some C plan benefits built up).

I'm interested in a replacement for AMIPP, and Cathcam's offer to get something up and running is excellent and I support it. I can see no issue in doing whatever is needed to confirm my identity, to provide the liability protection that Cathcam is looking for. I have no hangup about using my real name either.

We need a forum to continue. I'm waiting for the results of the recent High Court case and the start of the Industrial Tribunals, and although we have a secure forum on IPIG
I'd still like to see a forum like this one continue. And it's not just for the next 6 months. AMIPP activity peaks with every new attempt by IBM steal more of our pensions/benefits. Even if the Good Faith case goes against them, and all the tribunals, IBM will still try something else in the next couple of years, and a couple of years after that. Anyone who thinks they will ever tire of thinking new devious was to use our benefits to boost their earnings is deluded. We need to be able to keep in touch when the next need arises.

So I'd fully support Cathcam's offer and just hope we can get something up and running before AMIPP is frozen
