I personally think that the security concerns are understandable but in attempting to achieve a level of 100% reassurance seems to be the issue that will stop this getting off the ground. If we agree that this needs to get off thgeground then there needs to be a real-life acceptance of a compromise of both prudent security and intelligent posting. That way no one need get into any trouble.

I completely disagree and feel that the main future benefits are in the wider remit and fraternity generated by ex-ibmer's congegating on wider interests - as they do or did at work and whilst I agree that there are nutters - they should not be the obtuse consideration that stops the wider remit being offered nurtured and growing. Posts can be ignored and deleted and posters barred and in mature forums member peer pressure police more than moderators. I'm certainly not proposing a forum where products are discussed or anything dangerous but where "interests" are discussed and help and knowledge and information shared.

I'm not going to repeat the reasons why I proposed this before again .... but if the site just becomes a pension site it will be a missed opportunity imho.
