Tally,

You are very right. Gerstner has failed in bringing in the additional revenue. He started well by doing financial engineering and staving the inevitable with the sale of assets and continually reducing benefits.

Gerstner started off well, but his lack of vision and ability to deliver revenue growth has ended IBM's growth. Now the inevitable as a failing ex-"Titanic" business goes through its possible death throes....

First thing to do is cut costs, even at the expense of revenues. Thanks for confirming to me what a growing chorus of customers are saying.....the company is a shell and the last thing to tarnish will be the brand. It's started to falter already.

This is not you father's or mother's IBM. It is an example of an imploding business led by an incompetent that let his ego take the best of him and keep him at the helm too long.

The end is near. The stories that "you should be lucky to have what you get" are not the words of winners. They are the words of losers.

The rot has started to show. The fall will be quicker than the Kremlin and the pain much greater than Enron.
