I have just sent the following to OPAS:-
Dear Sir
I am an IBM United Kingdom retiree and I'm concerned with the transfer of funds from a closed contributory final salary pension plan to a new defined contribution pension plan. IBM's purpose being to allow the company to take further 'contribution holidays' by unfairly diverting members contributions to another plan for a different member group.
I understand you may have received similar complaints from other IBM retirees. I would like to add my name to this group of people who believe that IBM is dealing unfairly with their Pension Fund.
May I request a Form of Authority to confirm that I have asked for advice and to authorise you to request information from the Trustee.
