I and my husband find outselves in exactly this position. Both joined the Company at 25ish in the 'N' Plan. My husband joined the 'C' plan at the very beginning while I joined only 3 years ago. On last years benefits statement it appeared that while he had been paying 'C' plan for some 15 years he had not gained any benefit because my pension was not that different. This was not something that we had expected after struggling to pay 15 years contributions. We are awaiting this years benefits statement and we will then be in a position to quote actual figures. I actually posed this question to a Pensions representative some 2 years ago at a department meeting; the eyebrows went up but she stated she was unable to comment on individual cases and perhaps I should ask for a one-to-one. I believe there must be hundreds if not thousands of employees in the company in this situation. What has the 'C' plan actually gained us?
