Recent discussions have raised these questions which I cannot answer.
1 If a couple in retirement gets divorced, does the pension find immediately gain through no longer having a liability to pay a widow's pension?
2 If a 90 year old pensioner divorcee then marries a 20-year old, does the pension fund then get lumbered with a considerably increased liability?
3 Will the pension fund be willing to split a pension into two parts on divorce with neither party then entitled to a widow(er)s pension?
Any pointers would be much appreciated, but I must add that they do not relate to my personal situation.
