: I would certainly support exploratory discussion
: between the current & future pensioners and Jim Lamb
: for IBM.
I think we would all like to see some discussion from IBM, but so far all we seem to get are the standard replies:
a) "I want to assure you that IBM acts and will continue to act with complete integrity when dealing with pensions matters." (Paul Rogers)
b) "I acknowledge receipt of your letter ..., the content of which I have noted."
(Jim Lamb)
c) "... that IBM and the Trustee .... respect their duties to all members of the Plan" (Jim Lamb)
:This infers that there is a recognised body representing
:the pensioners (current and future). Any ideas who
:that might be?
As mentioned in Newsletter 3 (see link below), we are now considering the formation of a "C-Planners Association" (including E and N Planners). We had hoped that this step would be unnecessary, but, it now seems likely that we will have to proceed along this route. Such an Association would have one aim of representing C,E and N Plan members in any negotiation with IBM and the Trustee. It would also seek to build a fund which would cover expenses, legal costs and so on. We do have some ideas regarding this, but would welcome your thoughts on HOW and WHEN this should be done. What kind of Association would you like, what
would be the aims, how do you see it being run etc. Please post your thoughts here, or if you prefer send a note to the Webmaster.
An Association will need volunteers to help run it - particularly a Chairman, General Secretary, Treasurer etc.. If you would like to volunteer for any position, please inform the Webmaster or post here.
: Problem is. How does IBM regain our trust?
Only by discussing the matter in an open and more honest way than we have seen so far!
