My first take is that, if there is a case for compensation, given its current form IBM will get the money from the "place of least resistance". I don't really feel that should be the C Plan. Not only has IBM not given us rises to keep pace with inflation, many of us who left in their 50s, because of downsizing pressures and not really from choice, had our pensions capped (mine by over 10%) without any real pension uplift from a leaving plan.
