Yes, and the "bosses" response in that the best interests of the pensioners are served by the Company being successful (i.e. unfettered by rules) - which is true to a point, but no Company is immortal and many are immoral.

In essence Companies (all of them) say, "trust me". To which the correct response is, "Of course, now about this contract.....".

It seems to me that these new pension regulatory rules are a step in the right direction - but if the apparent rules re debt and dividends are true and interpreted strictly, the regulator will have the whip hand over more than half the FTSE!

Is it too late to become a civil servant?
