How typical am I, I wonder: voluntary early retiree (23 years with IBM) pre 1990, content then with 70% of RPI, content now that IBM has kept/is keeping its promise. That was, after all, the contract between us. Aspirations via MILs to "be among the best" have since been tempered by market conditions, surely? Am I ticked off that I don't benefit from RPI? Of course, but maybe one day... At least IBM has now committed to maintain the C Plan for working members - and therefore enhanced a sense of security for the likes of we retirees.
