As a retiree, I'm not sure that the IDP is of any significance to me. My legal connection with IBM (UK) Ltd was surely severed the day I retired. In addition, I presume that the IDP is associated with the individual employee/manager relationship, with recourse to the Open Door if that fails. There seems to be little purpose in using IDP to complain against pension procedures put in place to cover all IBMers, past and present, who have skin in the C Plan. Any number of individual complaints will not change those rules, or what IBM has done. I wouldn't be surprised if IBM's lawyers had produced a standard reply for all such complaints.
As to writing to the Trustees, well, a similar logic surely holds. As far as I can see, the retiree members who I voted for a year or two ago have either resigned or been replaced.
So I'm not sure what writing to IBM will achieve, although I'm willing to be convinced otherwise.
