: Hang on to those old grumpy values. Check out the link. Then try any number from 2652 to 2658, then 2659.
: Now where are those webmaster posts saying that there has been a deletion and giving a reason?
: I'm sure that Alan would follow his normal practice and make plain that he had acted, so I am even more convinced that somebody else is engaging in censorship here. If someone else has access to that facility what else might they have access to? They could be feeding membership details back to IBM. This has got be answered, and instantly.
Not all deleted messages are acknowledged. Recently I have performed some essential software maintenance of the message board code. In order to ensure that the code is still working, I posted a number of test messages which I subsequently deleted. Whilst I normally make it plain when I delete or modify messages, I do reserve the right to delete messages without explanation.
I am not aware of any unauthorised tampering of message board posts. With a little more analysis, I think you will find that GG's explanation of the 'changed' link is correct.
Membership details are not stored on the web server and therefore even if someone else had access, they could not steal the details from the server.
