So far there has been no extensive exposure in the public domain.
The current situation is that the Occupational Pensions Ombudsman is reviewing the material which has already been submitted. Until we have his ruling and IBM's response to his ruling, then our INTENTION IS NOT to damage IBM's image by seeking press publicity - after all, many of us have spent a lifetime building IBM's image. We would still like IBM to be a successful company once this dispute is over.
At the moment we would like IBM and the Trustees to focus on the real issues
behind the problem, rather than being distracted by press publicity.
However, we do wish to inform C-Plan members about the pension situation and to organise ourselves so that, should it be necessary, we can effectively present a case with the support of as many C-Planners as possible. It may be that press exposure will be needed later in order to contact those C-Plan members whom we cannot reach today.
I would welcome other comments on this subject.
