You should know this. There are continuous scans on the internet looking for unprotected clients. There are free to use firewalls that can be installed on a client that log all such traffic. Attempts to break in are common to all. Do you not think that that any organisation behind an originating IP address making a serious attack would have registed details so that a back trace and whois would not reveal true identifying information?
