Dave mentions that the employee contribution from 6 March 1987 was 4% of salary. The C-Plan started somewhile before then when the contribution was 5% of salary.
In "...the first Employee Report on the IBM Pension and Life Assurance Plan...", Sir Edwin Nixon stated that "During 1986, important changes to the C Plan were announced." He goes on to mention the reduction of contribution from 5% to 4% in March 1987 and that the conversion from N-Plan to C-Plan had been achieved in less than the original 5-year period.
