I know what you mean. There is a frightening amount of testosterone in the air. It went "win at any costs" some years ago after Gerstner's famous memo. That memo has a lot to answer for. Some very surprising people jettisoned their values completely and openly boasted about it as if they were reborn. "Do whatever you have to" was the mantra. Well now it seems to have backfired.
So I suspect that is what Beemer is winding Nigel Foster up about - possibly totally unfairly as IBMers of old often had moral scruples as did IBM itself. It may be too early but if Beemer can be taken at face value there might be a backlash against the ways that led to today's mess.
