Mr. Fied,
I'll be glad to refer your post to the customers and their solicitors that are using the Greenock facilities and tell them they aren't really using IBM managed facilities. That ought to be a good one for the Times, don't you think? You sign a BCRS contract with IBM and you don't even have IBM as your emergency facility owner in violation of the contract? The boys at the European Briefing Center and the Scott, Wallace, Bruce, Watt and Main suites will be getting a call from the FT thanks to your comments.
Who did you think was going to be made redundant? The IGS and Hursley crowd will be right up there on the lists of "disappeared ones".
Anyway, I had an old friend called Burgess who used to say "Silly Philby" when he was nervous and lying. The old Cambridge boys that don't like boys say "preposterous", but those who like little boys always said "silly". Are you possibly one of them?
While on the subject of layoffs, check the Yahoo finance board. They are talking now about 20K leaving off the plank of the Sicilian led ship by the 25th of the month.
Since you are so knowledgeable about blue, then you should know that the MoD team (the national government team) will be along the plank with their contractors and consultants. Despite the advice of the boys in South Bank, who knew we could never win any more government contracts, Wilson took a chance and now he's desperately picking up table scraps like the good old doggie he is.
Let's see.....4 billion pounds on the NHS deal lost, 4 billion on the Inland deal and 4 on the ministry of defence? Looks like IBM UK has lost about 20% of its revenue?
All this work down the pan despite the valiant efforts "intellectual honchos" from the states coming into Leeds. Seems Mr. Wilson will be history and the resumes of the consultants helping there as well. What a massive failure in sales and marketing. Should have listened to the finance boys in South Bank! They knew the answer and it wasn't a pissed off UK client! It was an American company caught red handed!
The difference between IBM and the Titanic, I fear is that the ship at least had some survivors in steerage with some pension left!
Your friend Kim. I never liked little boys, BTW.
