: 1.There have now been numerous reports of IBM falling foul of National Authorities in one form or another. (e.g. Inland Revenue here, Japanese Tax Authorities, US fine for selling kit to Eastern Bloc and most recently an SEC investigation into what appears to be some kind of overstated revenue issue. Add to this alleged bribes in Argentina, Mexico and South Korea I seem to recall.). This is clearly not the IBM those who left before Gerstner knew. That makes me feel very uncomfortable indeed.:

Please do not forget the wonderful contribution IBM made to the Nazi process of liquidating 6 million Jews during WW3. Without the assistance of IBM's great technology the progress of this mass extermination would have had to rely on much slower manual methods and perhaps I would have a larger family today than I currently have. These facts of course were largely unknown to IBM employees during the 70's and 80's and certainly devastated my feelings about IBM. So when exactly did IBM have any sort of conscience?
