Yes, I'm sure you are right that in principle it is impossible to prevent inferences being made about what somebody knows, and occasionally the inferences will have some foundation in what was said or not said. (Consider the inferences in "Prime Minister fails to deny that UK has plans to invade France".)
But the inferences will be nebulous and could hardly justify anybody taking actions based on the inferences.
I was really just trying to break any association between "Brian says on the AMIPP message board..." and "The Trust says..."
Readers of this message board know enough to understand anyway that there is no such association - it was just a formality, perhaps unnecessary, to point that out.
