Not really because IBM Pnsions Trust in all good faith were reassured at the time that EL knew what they were doing.
In fact you may find that the AVC payments you made were a GAR contract! I discovered by accident and chance that the payments I made to AVC (A Plan) were into an EL with profits fund that had a GAR. On retiring I requested a comparison with the annuity rates that IBM would offer compared to EL and luckily chose IBM.
