The current situation is that the Occupational Pensions
Ombudsman is reviewing the material already submitted.
It is he who will decide if there has been any 'Maxwellian
Activity'. Until we have his ruling and IBM's response
to his ruling, then our INTENTION IS NOT to damage
IBM's image by seeking press publicity. We would still like
IBM to remain a successful company once this dispute is over.

At the moment I would like the IBM Trustees to focus on the real issues
rather than being distracted by press publicity.

However, we do wish to inform C-Plan members about the pension situation
and to organise ourselves so that, should it be necessary,
we can effectively present a case with the support of as many
C-Planners as possible.

It may be that a change in legislation is required and
some members are also informing their MPs about the matter.

I would welcome other comments on this subject.
