Something I should have mentioned above. The RPI spreadsheet shows that an unindexed pension would have more than halved in value since 1982. The IBM pension would be down to 82%. Not good, but better. I was warned about the 70% increases, so I have to put up with 82%. But I could not cope with something below 50% in only 17 years.
What will you be doing in 2017?
