Having had brief discussions, and some significant support, from Mike O'Sullivan in getting a clear understanding my own options I can add to the reassurance about his mental strength.
However before I spoke to Mike I tried to contact Elaine Kirkwood and found that she is on leave until March 2003. I had no way of contacting her quickly to find out whether she is continuing to carry out the role while on leave. I suspect the board may well be one down at future meetings unless a stand-in emerges. Adrian Furnell was not aware that she was away.
MEDs time to keep up to speed ....................
Having discovered how difficult it is to get hard facts about just my own situation I understand the point about time required to get up to speed on the background from an independent view point. As a new user of this message board I am impressed, however, by the knowledge and helpfulness of other users - the message board could well be helpful in briefing the MEDs prior to future debates, as it probably already is.
