institutional pensions in the newspapers today; concerns fraud and
transparency in corporate (and other) pension funds and a series of
suggested measures to combat this. Plainly has happened yet but it
highlights the problems.

It was in the FT yesterday - if you go to ft.com and search on
pensions you will find it. (See link below)
my rather rapid reading is that basically he says it is still pretty
easy to raid a company pension fund - and that the employees should get
more benefit from the fund - also that the asset management should be by
a totally independent party - and that in any case there should be
complete transparency on what is happening to the fund. there is plainly
some form of government review process going on - but what the process
is I don't know.
