Below is the copy/paste of the note sent to all employees concerning
the recent C Plan publicity, appended without comment!
To: All employees
From: Paul Rodgers, Director of Human Resources, UK and Ireland
Subject: IBM UK Pension Fund
Some of you may have seen a recent report in the Times concerning the
IBM UK Pension Fund. I am also aware that e-mails are circulating among
employees with regard to the Pension Plan. I want to assure you that IBM
acts and will continue to act with complete integrity when dealing with
pensions matters. We comply with pensions legislation, take proper
professional advice and act in accordance with that advice. IBM will
continue to meet all its obligations in regard to the provision of
pensions.
Further information on pensions matters is available from ASK HR.

One of my colleagues has read this and suggested that everyone
should write to Paul Rodgers to let him know that this message
has made us feel less, rather than more, re-assured that our
pension is safe in his hands!

Paul, thank you for your reassurance. Knowing, however, how IBM
employees in the USA were treated over pensions, I would prefer to wait
until the UK courts decide on this issue. My confidence in the "IBM
team" has taken a big knock.
Best wishes
