It does not cost a lot to provide AMIPP's services since all the labour is volunteered.  Since the beginning AMIPP has been financed by a few contributions.   We are introducing this page to allow you to make contributions.  This not because there is any risk of AMIPP discontinuing for financial reasons.  It is because:

(a) It seems fairer to have a wider base, rather than rely on the same people as we have for years.

(b) We would like the mechanism proved to work.  AMIPP has no plans at the moment to spend noticeably more but if it did then a working donation mechanism would be needed.

Hence we are publishing AMIPP's account number. Those considering donation should note:

1.  The mechanism preferred is such that AMIPP does not know who donates.  Hence you are not exposed to the problem that occurs with many charities:  "If I donate to them they will put me on a list to be asked for more".  The relevant information is:

You might be able to use your own bank to make a transfer but the free and anonymous method is to go into a branch of Lloyds with cash.  You will be asked to sign the form the bank clerk fills in but that is just recognition of the transaction and your name does not reach AMIPP.

2. Donation confers no privileges.  You are accepting that the donation will be used at the discretion of the officers of AMIPP.  (You will not even see accounts.  The treasurer prepares accounts for the other officials but the amounts involved do not justify auditing and publication.)
