Amicus in IBM – the power behind you

Trade unions are made up of groups of workers like you who join together to improve their pay and conditions and safeguard their interests at work

Amicus is the largest private sector union in the UK and Ireland with over 1.2 million members, and the principal trade union representing people in IT.

We have members in small and medium sized IT companies right through to global leaders – including members in such companies as Accenture, CSC, EDS, Fujitsu, and IBM.

Our level of union organisation in the IT industry ranges from giving advice and organising support to individual members and representation in individual meetings, such as grievance and disciplinary cases,  right through to having full recognition agreements where we negotiate pay and other terms and conditions of employment.

Amicus has negotiating rights for some groups of employees within IBM. In addition, as a member of Amicus you can be represented individually irrespective of whether IBM agrees to recognise Amicus for collective representation and negotiation.

We can provide you with industrial relations and employment law advice and support you to get a union group established to work together in dealing with the issues arising with an employer like IBM.

IBM has a whole army of support through lawyers, management consultants, pensions experts, accountants, PR advisors and others. You need to be equipped with similar expertise.

Working for IBM? It’s time to become organised…. Amicus has full time specialist staff to help you with this.
